Lincoln Park Fire Chief Paul Murray Retires

Paul Murray joined the Lincoln Park Fire Department in 1982.  Over the course of a 30-year career with the department, Murray rose through the fire ranks, in March of 2011 named Interim Fire Chief, and later in 2011 was appointed as Fire Chief.  During his tenure as Chief, Murray was extremely supported and active with the Lincoln Park CERT (Community Emergency Response Team) program. The program, which assists professional responders in both emergency and non-emergency situations, began shortly before Murray was appointed Interim Fire Chief.  When Murray was named Interim Fire Chief, the program was struggling and with the assistance and leadership of Murray, the program was able to form into a successful and productive program.  Murray was extremely supported of the capabilities and abilities of the CERT program.  Lincoln Park CERT had no bigger supporter than Chief Murray.  On November 1, 2012, Paul Murray retired from the Lincoln Park Fire Department.  Lincoln Park CERT wishes to extend our most sincere appreciation to Murray for not only his commitment to Lincoln Park CERT but also for always believing in our program.  Lincoln Park CERT wishes Paul Murray best in his retirement.
