Lincoln Park neighborhood cordoned off after semitruck hits electrical pole

A Lincoln Park neighborhood off of Fort Street between Warwick and College is cordoned off after a semitruck hit an electrical pole in an alley.

When the electrical pole was struck at about 3 p.m. July 30, it caused four others to topple as well, as they are all connected, according to Fire Chief Liam Carroll. Firefighters are keeping watch over a smoldering power line in the alley off of  Fort Street. That power line caught fire and damaged an area garage, but firefighters extinguished it quickly, Carroll said.
