What a CATASTROPHIC Supply Chain Breakdown Will Look Like

When a society falls apart, it’s hard to know exactly how it will all fracture and break apart.  We can tell a little bit of our course by the challenges we face as a community, a nation, a world of countries.  When war is at your door, you can predict what things you won’t have: electricity, water, gas, safety, and so forth.  When a natural disaster strikes, you can also bet on the same services falling apart, and, given the length of the disaster, maybe social order too.  Some disasters have a local or regional zone and impacted radius.  Some are larger in scope and suck in other stable areas like a spiraling vortex.

Violent Crime Is Surging Dramatically In Major Cities All Over America

What we are witnessing all over the country right now is incredibly sad. In the aftermath of the tragic death of George Floyd, it would have been wonderful to see the entire nation unite behind an effort to make our society less violent, more just and more peaceful. But instead, we have seen a tremendous explosion of violence and lawlessness that doesn’t seem likely to end any time soon. Violent crime rates are surging in major city after major city, and the 4th of July weekend was particularly bad. At least 41 people were hit by gunfire in New York City during the holiday weekend, and this continues a trend that we have seen throughout the first half of 2020.

Community Emergency Response Team Trailer

The Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) program educates volunteers about disaster preparedness for the hazards that may impact their area and trains them in basic disaster response skills, such as fire safety, light search and rescue, team organization, and disaster medical operations. CERT offers a consistent, nationwide approach to volunteer training and organization that professional responders can rely on during disaster situations, allowing them to focus on more complex tasks.

Unit 6: Fire Safety and the Utility Controls: The CERT Member’s Role (18:29)

This training video covers the basics of fire size up, use of extinguishers and fire safety. Fires are dangerous and can change quickly. As in all CERT operations, the CERT members safety is always the number one priority. Safety measures presented in the video include use of protective gear and the proper equipment to extinguish small fires, working with a buddy and a team, planning for safe entry and exit, maintaining a safe distance and position from a fire and using the P.A.S.S. procedure to operate fire extinguishers.

100 Items That Will Disappear In An Emergency

hese are at least 100 items that will disappear in an emergency at the very least at your local grocery or big box store. Can you picture the empty store shelves after a disaster? I have seen them after a flooding episode here in Southern Utah. Luckily, only the bottled water shelves were empty, but you can imagine if we had a major emergency. I’m hoping as you read this list you will think of the things that you will want to stock in your home so you are better prepared. You don’t have to store everything on this list, just the things that you would miss if the roads and highways shut down.
